Training League (PreK - 1st)

• Season runs from early September through mid-November
• 10 Games played primarily on Saturdays or Sundays at CVAC (Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex)
• One practice during the week

 The primary objective of the Pre-K program is to provide an enjoyable, low-key introduction to soccer for our players.

Fees

Training League (PreK - 1st)                    $110 per player 

• A late registration fee of $40 applies from the Registration End Date until the program can no longer accept players for that gender and age level.
• A $25 Sibling Discount will be given on all Soccer registrations after the first family member.  This discount will be taken when you checkout, if it applies.

Uniforms

The Ascension Soccer Program will provide a shirt for all players.  Parents are responsible for purchasing socks and shorts.

It is the goal of the soccer program at Ascension to promote a positive experience surrounding the game of soccer for each child. We are dedicated to providing a safe, family-oriented environment for our children to learn and to enjoy organized sporting activities.  The goal of the various programs is not only to teach our children how to play a given sport, but also how to be a good sport in both victory and defeat.

Who Can Play?

Soccer is open to all boys and girls, Pre-K through High School, who meet AT LEAST ONE of the following criteria:

• Registered members of Ascension Parish
• Attend Ascension School or Ascension PSR
• Reside in the Ascension Parish boundaries.  Click here for parish boundaries.

 Open players that do not meet any of the above criteria, will not be allowed to play at Ascension under any circumstances.

CYC League (Grades 2-8)

• Season runs from early September through mid-November
• 10 Games played Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday at CVAC (Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex)
• One practice during the week
• CYC ID Card required

Fees

CYC League (Grades 2-8)             $140

• A late registration fee of $40 applies from the Registration End Date until the program can no longer accept players for that gender and age level.
• A $25 Sibling Discount will be given on all Soccer registrations after the first family member.  This discount will be taken when you checkout, if it applies.

Team Formation

• The team the player was on the previous year.
• The school the player attends. 
• CYC requires that a player live within the Ascension parish boundaries or is a registered member of the parish or attends Ascension school or Ascension PSR to play on an Ascension team.
• The subdivision the player lives in.  CYC requires that a player live within the Ascension parish boundaries or is a registered member of the parish to play on an Ascension team. 
• The number of players assigned to each team at the grade level.  We try to keep the number of players on a team consistent across the teams when possible.

Parent Participation - Helps with the Success of Our Program!

All parents are encouraged to volunteer in our Soccer Program as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, practice/game helper, or party organizer.  If your team already has a Head Coach, please ask him/her what you can do to help the team.  Or contact the appropriate Soccer Coordinator for details on how to help.  Parent Participation helps with the success of our Soccer program!

Each volunteer (coach, assistant coach) must fulfill their Archdiocese obligation by being compliant with the guidelines listed below.  Non-compliance means we cannot accept volunteers that we greatly appreciate and need to make our Ascension programs successful.

The following positions are available for the 2017 Soccer Season. Please contact John Byrne with questions.  

Soccer Co-Director

This position will be a 2 year commitment.  You will work with the current director, John Byrne, this year and then name a replacement to work with you for the 2018 season.  

Responsible for all aspects of the CYC Soccer program.  This position receives all sports free for all their children, and is exempt from work duty requirements.

• Oversees all other soccer coordinators
• Ensures all rosters, schedules, referees, practices are set
• Responsible for promoting soccer registration (bulletin, newsletter, signs, etc.) 

2018 Soccer Tournament Committee (several positions)

Our two tournament coordinators are retiring.  We are looking for two people to work together to run all aspects of the Ascension Soccer Tournament.  The tournament usually takes place over 2 weekends in August and has included grades K-8.  The Communications Director will be responsible for all communication with coaches, as well as working with the City of Chesterfield/CVAC. Scheduling Director will be responsible for collecting all registrations, and submitting team divisions, schedule conflicts, etc. to 3rd party vendor to run the schedule. We are open to any changes.  This position receives free soccer for all their children, and is exempt from work duty requirements.
