How To Get Involved

The Athletic Association would not be able to offer sports opportunities without the dedicated people who give their time to our programs.  We have over 50 Program Volunteers and over 250 Coaches, yet we still need more! 

Please browse the list of available opportunities with the Ascension Athletic Association.  If you don't see something that interests you, please contact a Board Member for more information on the area you would like to help.  We are open and willing to create new positions!

Co-Director, Soccer Tournament Operations

This position is responsible for field setup and any other on-site needs.  The Co-Director will also assess the number of volunteers needed for game day (including check in desk, field marshals, etc) and submit to the Director of Work Duty Scheduling.  

This position receives free sports for all children, and meets the annual work duty requirement.

Ast Director, Soccer Tournament Vendors & Promotions

This position is responsible for the promotion and marketing of the tournament on the CYC tournament page, social media, etc to acquire teams and grow the tournament.  This position is also responsible for working with and coordinating outside vendors such as golf cars, medical tent, porta potties, trophies, etc.

This position receives free soccer for all children, and meets the annual work duty requirement.

Ast Director, Soccer Tournament Registrations

This position is responsible for the setup and management of all team registrations through Sports Signup Play. This person will be the point of contact for any teams experiencing issues with registration. He/she will be responsible for monitoring all registrations and providing registration updates to the Co-Directors

This position receives free soccer for all children, and meets the annual work duty requirement.

Grade Level Coordinator, Soccer

 

This position is responsible for team formation within their assigned grade level, and is the first point of contact for parents and coaches at that grade level.  The Coordinator will monitor registrations, work with coaches to ensure fair and balanced teams, coordinate parent requests for team assignment, and ensure all teams have the appropriate number of coaches.

This position meets the annual work duty requirement.

Coordinator, Volleyball Uniforms

This position is responsible for all aspects of uniforms for their respective sport. Two uniform pickup/return dates must be coordinated with the Work Duty Schedule Director. This position is responsible for keeping an accurate inventory of all uniforms, and ordering additional pieces when needed to ensure needs will be met.

This position receives free volleyball for all children, and meets the annual work duty requirement.

Director, Chess Program

New Position!

CYC conducts a Chess League with over 400 participants. The Chess season runs from December through March, with 4 meets and a championship meet for those that qualify.

This program is currently not available at Ascension. We are looking for a Program Director to get this program up and running at Ascension. This position would be responsible for communicating with CYC to acquire additional program details. He/she would work with the AAA board to assess needs to coordinate an Ascension Chess team. Duties include compiling registration details, coordinating to host a meet at Ascension, and communicating with parents/players on meet schedules, etc.

This position receives free sports for all children, and meets the annual work duty requirement.

Director, Lacrosse Program

New Position!

CYC conducts a Lacrosse league with over 45 teams in the St. Louis area, for Boys & Girls in grades 5-8. Registration opens in late December or early January.  The 8 game season runs March through May, with playoffs in early June.

This program is currently not available at Ascension.  We are looking for a Program Director to get this program up and running at Ascension. This position would be responsible for communicating with CYC to acquire program details.  He/she would work with the AAA board to assess needed positions need to facilitate the Ascension Lacrosse program and aid in filling these positions.

This position receives free sports for all children, and meets the annual work duty requirement.
